It’s official! We have renewed our sponsorship of Holywell-based Bates Cottage Cricket Club for another year.
We are delighted to have got our sponsorship deal across the line and be supporting the Northumberland cricket club for another year.
Look out for the Black Storm logo on the first team kit and for our advertising around the pitch on match days. But more importantly, give our award-winning craft beer a try when you’re at the ground!
And talking of being at the ground, if you’re interested in taking up a new hobby this year, why not get yourself down to the club and give cricket a chance? The club is home to 6 teams, including two senior Saturday league teams, a Sunday-friendly XI, a Midweek XI and both a thriving junior and women's team.
The club prides itself on its diversity and inclusivity, offering men, women and children of all ages an opportunity to join in on the fun. All sections of the club are thriving, with more and more people getting involved and flexing their cricketing muscles.
All four of the senior teams performed magnificently last season, with the Saturday first XI finishing a very respectable 4th in the league, the highest position for the club in years.
The ladies’ team enjoyed great success in 2022, so much so that they are hoping to build on the squad this year, as well as introduce a new junior girls’ team.
The junior team has also shown significant growth, with nearly 80 local kids attending these sessions every Friday night.
In addition, the club’s ‘Walking Cricket’ event has been a welcome addition for the older community, who love their sessions every Tuesday afternoon. The only rule is no running!
